Critiques
oh yeah, critique... I'll save the fangasming for the normal comments.
Anyway, I really like this piece. It appears surprisingly dynamic for a portrait. It's definitely your style I got to love, but it seems like you've taken it to another step.
I just adore the colouring, especially the fur and undershirt look like watercolours and give the perfect contrast to the eye-catching textures of the other clothings. Along with the good choice of background (simple, yes, but highly effective), the colours look really great.
Lines might be a bit sketchy, but personally I prefer a bit of sketchiness... it adds to the dynamics if applied in a reasonable amount.
new hair do, albeit only achievable with ridiculous amount of hairgel (I should know), and new markings blend in to the design nicely and make this a nice-looking, enjoyable portrait and really makes the viewer want to see more of your work.
First of all, that's a great redesign, the character looks fresh new without eliminating his past, expressed in your older works. I'm interested ins eeing the footwear he's got, I believe it helps defining the character a lot.
Talking about the art itself, I'd say you've got some pretty bold lines there. The whole pic's got that sketchy look that I suppose you gave it intentionally. Even though, this roughness adds some barriers to the artist that make it difficult, for example, to show up some details on his new design. If you're working with this new style from now on, I suggest you to try to think about some workaround for those small details that you might want to add in a picture.
The coloring is pretty good, it enhanced the lighting and gave more life to the picture. All in all, it's a good picture that brings good news too! Hope to see more new stuff soon!
